March 6-7, 2008
UCLA, Los Angeles
It is with great pleasure that we announce the Danish American Business Summit 2008, to be held at UCLA in Los Angeles on March 6th and 7th of 2008.
The Danish-American Chamber of Commerce in Southern California has been commissioned by the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington DC and the regional Danish-American Chambers of Commerce to host the third annual Danish American Business Summit.
Under the theme of "Competitiveness in Action," business leaders and trade officials will gather at the business summit to compare and contrast the challenges to business competitiveness in Denmark and the United States - two of the world's most competitive nations.
The Danish Ambassador to the United States, Friis Arne Petersen, has endorsed the business summit and will partake in the event. Other participating dignitaries include the Honorary and General Consuls representing Denmark throughout the United States.
Even before the official announcement, business leaders in the many organizations have informally expressed interest. The list continues to grow and includes - Union Bank, Biogen, Legoland, Innovation Center Denmark, Kopenhagen Fur, Carlsberg, Grundfos, Maersk, Microsoft, Yahoo, Cisco Systems, Bang & Olufsen, Novo Nordisk, Hewlett Packard, Columbus IT, Ericsson, and many more.
We are also very pleased to announce that Lars Kolind, entrepreneur, author, former CEO of Oticon, vice chairman of Grundfos; as well as Asger Aamund, founder and chairman of Bavarian Nordic and NeuroSearch; and Jørgen M. Clausen, CEO of Danfoss have agreed to provide a keynote address at the summit.
We are currently contacting other potential speakers and sponsors with the intent of creating an outstanding event that will stimulate and promote good will, trade and business relations in and between the United States and Denmark. We plan to announce the detailed program and open attendee registration on November 1, 2007.
